Before releasing a full album of his own songs and parodies, Insane Ian produced three albums of dementia: "Good bye Ladies & Gentlemen: A Tribute to The Presidents of the United States of America", "Me, Myself and I: The Music of 'Weird Al' Yankovic (as performed by others)" and "Blank Babies: A Tribute to the Music of Chris Ballew (of The Presidents of the United States of America)". Insane Ian appears on at least one track on each of these releases. (Insane Ian)

Insane Ian's song, "Guitar Hero" was Number 8 on Dr Demento's Top Ten for June 2008, beating out his hero "Weird Al"'s own "Eat It" at number 9. Ironically, the day it entered the Top Ten (June 29th is the official airdate) was also the day Activision released the game "Guitar Hero: Aerosmith" for PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. (Insane Ian)
